  Description
Introductory activities Discussion of the required background for the program of the course. A detailed explanation of the organization and content of the program and the system of evaluation which will be used.
Lecture Teacher's presentation of the origin and development of the written literary traditions of Africa, the Caribbean, and India. Presentation of the importance of orality in these literatures.
Seminars Groups are formed to defend different points of view.
Step 1: Selection and reading of a literary excerpt or poem.
Step 2: Aesthetic appreciation of the form and content.
Step 3: Argumentation to defend individual points of view.


Presentations / expositions Oral presentation of topics taken from one of the three novels chosen for the course.
Assignments Each student puts into practice his or her ability to write a critical appreciation of each one of the three novels chosen for the course.
Each student writes a proposal for a research paper following the model provided by the teacher.
