Descripció general i informació rellevant This course will focus on what it means to be an American in the United States of America. through a selection of autobiographical texts. This course will try to analyse these texts both as creative acts of self-definition and as documents of the social and historical times in which they were written.

Recomanacions



Metodologia docent
The course will be based on lectures and class participation. Attendance to each session is required. To complement my lectures, I will suggest reading that in some way set the context for the work required. Whenever possible, audiovisual material will be used to illustrate the points made in class.

Metodologia avaluació
The final grade will be based on a) class attendance, b) class participation, two short papers and a final exam.
