General description and relevant information This course is intended to offer a deep insight into some structural and functional complexities of English, at the level of the phrase, the clause and the sentence. The course will focus on the complexities of the English noun phrase and other complex structures - subordination and topicalization processes - from a theoretical and practical perspective.

Methodologies
  Description
Activitats Introductòries The first few classes will be devoted to a review of basic concepts.
Sessió Magistral The lecture-based classes will describe some of the complexities of the English language. Students will be expected to read assigned material before class. There will be a final exam at the end of the term.
Presentacions / exposicions Students will describe, study and analyze some grammatical structure. Details will be given on the first day of classes.
Seminaris The seminars will be based on the discussion and analysis of assigned material. Students will be expected to read assigned material and prepare exercises at home prior to class time.
Treballs There will be a final written assignment at the end of the term. Details will be given on the first day of classes.
