Descripció general i informació rellevant Promoure l’adquisició de les quatre destreses bàsiques de la llengua anglesa (speaking, reading, listening and writing), i en especial la destresa de l’EXPRESSIÓ ORAL per tal d’assolir les competències necessàries per comunicar-se de manera eficaç en un context professional i acadèmic. Conèixer les estructures lingüístiques de l’anglès tècnic per facilitar l’accés a textos tècnics i millorar l’expressió escrita.

Continguts

Dossier que compila unitats temàtiques que treballen la competència de l'ús de la llengua, la comprensió lectora, la comprensió oral, l'expressió escrita i l'expressió oral. La temporització es lliura a principi de curs via Moodle.

Activitats Introductòries The teacher explains some basic concepts related to the subjects covered during the course
Sessió Magistral The teacher gives necessary theoretical background and explanations concerning grammar and all the concepts covered in the course.
Resolució de problemes, exercicis a l'aula ordinària Students work at class will be based on the following activities:
- translating, comparing translations
- close reading
- listening
- interactive activities
- individual and collective writing.
Presentacions / exposicions Students will be asked to make a short oral presentation on any topic related to the world of telecommunication industry.
Treballs One of the aims of this course is to make the student familiar with the type of language used in the world of industry and information technology. Therefore, they will be asked to write summaries of various articles taken from SPECTRUM magazine.

Descripció
In order to improve their English it is important for the student to discuss and analyse with the teacher the types of mistakes they make in the summaries of the articles. Also, students' contribution with the teacher to make their oral presentations clearer and more professional wiil be taken into account when evaluating their work during the course.
