General description and relevant information The economic environment is increasingly complex, competitive and unpredictable. To succeed in this environment, organizations need to: 1. Have flatter organizational structures, with fewer hierarchical levels. 2. To be more agile and flexible. 3. Be focused outward. 4. Be obsessed with continuous improvement and excellence. 5. Be able to generate innovative ideas from all staff. 6. Be much faster to generate and implement new ideas. The organizational unit that most consistently delivers these advantages is a team. Therefore, it is expected that more and more organizations adopt team-based organizational structures. While there may be some teams that are able to reach high performance with a poor leader, it’s generally true that the success of a team depends on whether or not the leader has the right skills and attitudes for the job. This course equips you with a framework of effective leadership behaviors and a set of team facilitation skills that you need to lead teams successfully.
