Description |
Introductory activities |
The first class will introduce this module of literature, its contents, reading texts, methodology, exams and bibliography. It is important that all students come on this day. |
Seminars |
The seminars will focus on the different contents related to the literature of the Victorian Age and the Early 20th century. There will be general introductions to the literary and cultural contexts, which will be done with power-point presentations. The seminars will also be practical and based on the reading texts.
The evaluation will consist on 3 written essays in which the student will have to put into practice all the knowledge learned in a coherent and critical way. |

There will be 3 written essays in which the student will have to demonstrate that she/he has read the literary texts of the programme and can interrelate them with the main theoretical (cultural and literary) background.
Critical thinking and the use of good grammar will be essential. |

Those students who fail the 1st sitting (1a convocatoria or continuous assessment), and also those who do not come to the classes, will have a 2nd opportunity (2a. convocatoria) to pass this module. The contents for this second sitting will be the same, that is to say, those mentioned in the programme. For these students there will be 2 written essays to be done in 2 hours. Relevant information, grammar and critical thinking will be essential to pass the course. |
