General description and relevant information <p class="Cuerpo"><!--[if !supportLists]-->·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <!--[endif]-->Given the current health emergency, during the 2020-21 academic year, the Faculty’s courses will exceptionally and temporarily be taught in either a face-to-face, a blended or an online format depending on the regulations issued by the health authorities and any other competent bodies and if the spatial requirements allow it.</p><p class="Cuerpo"><!--[if !supportLists]-->·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <!--[endif]-->This subject combines face-to-face and blended learning in a percentage that has yet to be confirmed. When the academic year starts, the calendar with all of the planned teaching activities (with timetables and classrooms) will be available from the Moodle online campus for each subject.</p><p class="Cuerpo"><!--[if !supportLists]-->·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <!--[endif]-->This teaching guide is provisional only. If any health emergency arises it will be adapted in order to comply with the directives issued by the competent bodies. Any modification will be announced via the news forum on the Moodle online campus. </p><p class="Cuerpo"><!--[if !supportLists]-->·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <!--[endif]-->If there is a new lockdown and/or any modification to the sections of the teaching guide, the adjustments that need to be made to teaching practices will be announced via Moodle.&nbsp;</p><p>The objectives of this course are the following:</p><div><div><ul><li>To introduce students to the concepts about Teaching and Learning a second Language/foreign Language.</li><li>To learn about the main current theories, approaches, practices and activities in ELT.&nbsp;</li><li>To provide materials and activities to help students in their professional development as well as a reflection of their own teaching.</li></ul></div><div><br /></div></div>

  Description
Introductory activities Introduction of the field and the different topics.
Problem solving, exercises Students will be presented with some practica cases that will have to be analysed according to the theory studied. This will also be part of the final mark.
Forums of debate The course will have forums related to all the topics studied in class to share ideas and raise questions.
Reading written documents and graphs The students will have to read many articles and boock chapters related to the topics.
Personal attention Students will be in touch with the teacher on a regular basis.

Donada la situació d'emergència sanitària, durant el curs 2020-21 s'atendrà els estudiants en tutoria individualitzada i/o grupal per tal de resoldre possibles dubtes, consultes i altres qüestions relacionades amb l'assignatura. La tutoria podrà ser presencial i/o virtual. A principis de curs s'informarà a l'estudiant sobre com es portarà a terme aquesta atenció personalitzada (horaris, si serà presencial, per correu electrònic, Moodle,...)

Aquesta guia docent és orientativa. En el cas de situacions d'emergència sanitària s'adaptarà l'avaluació perquè es pugui dur a terme d'acord amb les directrius que estableixin els organismes pertinents. Qualsevol modificació s'informarà, si escau, mitjançant el fòrum de notícies del campus virtual (Moodle).
