General description and relevant information <div></div><div><br /></div><p> The main aim of this course is to provide undergraduate students in Tourism Studies with the language skills that are necessary for their future careers. This course also aims to develop students’ ability to communicate effectively in English and interact in common professional situations. Students will practise the four main skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) as they become familiar with specialized vocabulary and the conventions commonly used in the travel and tourism industry. Through a wide variety of tourism related topics and tasks, students will increase confidence in using English in different professional contexts. Course level: • At the end of the course, students will reach an upper intermediate level (B2) of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR). • At the beginning of the course, students will take an “Online Placement Test” to test their English level. </p>
In this subject you only have the right to make the exam, because the degree you are studying is going to be extinguished. You have to take a look the timetable of the subject to know the exam's date. If you need an extraordinary exam session, you have to enrol for this, presenting an application to the secretariat of your campus or faculty.

UNIT 9 - ORAL PRESENTATION Describe the variety of ways in which people can travel
-Explain the disadvantages of different types of travel.
-Describe the different types of travelers and tourists and explain their reasons for travelling.
-Describe and explain the range of needs that different types of travelers and tourists may have.
-Describe the facilities that different types of accommodation may offer (e.g. hotels, hostels, campsites, etc.)
-Describe the range of holiday types that are available (e.g. package holidays, cruises, skiing holidays, etc.)
-Describe the different job roles that occur in the hotel, catering, airline, ground transport and tourism industries.
