<p> The ability to communicate proficiently in English is of the utmost importance, as this constitutes “tool of the trade” for the students of this major. In this course, the students will practise and improve their speaking and listening skills. </p><div><br /></div>

Metodologies

	Descripció
Activitats Introductòries	The subjects, work plan, evaluation system and moodle will be presented during the first session of the course.
Resolució de problemes, exercicis a l'aula ordinària	The seminars include the training in speaking and listening skills. Authentic materials will be used so there is exposure to natural speech of varying English dialects. Additionally, the students will take part in a tele collaborative exchange with an exchange partner in another country.
Seminaris	During the lecture sessions the students will learn about the theories on the spoken discourse as well as its characteristics. Listening techniques and strategies will also be approached.
Presentacions / exposicions	Students are required to do regular oral presentations in order to prove they acquired the language and knowledge skills worked on throughout the course.
Treballs col·laboratius.
Atenció personalitzada	Students will receive personal and whole-class feedback on a regular basis. Any questions or issues can also be dealt with during tutoring sessions if needed.

Altres comentaris i segona convocatòria
Students who will fail the 1st call will go to the 2^nd call exam. The 2nd call final exam will be divided into 3 parts: theory questions (20%), a listening task (40%) and an oral task (40%).
