Activitats Introductòries There will be an introductory session at the beginnin of the course.
The main guidelines for the course will be explained; emphasis will be placed on the course assessment and methodologies as well as course requirements for students in CA.
Sessió Magistral There will be nine lectures; three for each section in which the course topcs are divided.
Seminaris 15 Seminars: discussion of cultural / historical texts or literay fragments which students will have read beforehand. Students will be encouraged to actively participate in these practical sessions for which previous reading and critical analysis will be an essential requirement.
This will be part of the CA.
Presentacions / exposicions Each student will undertake research and study on a topic related to the course syllabus. The choice of topic will be agreed upon with the teacher at the beginning of the course. The result of this individual research will be presented in class.
The assessment of this part of the student's work will be based on the following:
Class presentation; written essay with bibliography.
This will be part of the CA.
Treballs 3 written assignments --in class--on topics suggested by the teacher and related to the themes studied in class. The critical study /analysis of a given text, fragment, or complete literary work, will be previously prepared at home and discussed in class (seminar/practical sessions). Studenst will be then asked to answer a number of questions in written form in class.
This will be part of the CA.

Descripció
Students will be given personal attention at individual tutorials throughout the course. These tutorials will be an essential as part of the student's individual research work for their class presentation. Two previous tutorials (presential or through e-mail) will be an essential requirement previous to class presentation. Students will be encouraged to consult with their teacher whenever they have doubts.

Written work will be set periodically by the teacher, depending on the number of students. At the beginning of the course a calendar will be set for presential sessions, tutorials and written tests Assignments, seminar discussion, presentations will be set according to the course calendar. Individual work will be completed and sent to the teacher according to a set calendar. NO COURSE-WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED BEYOND DEADLINES. Students will be assessed on the basis of constinuous assessment (CA) or a final exam. Students who do not have a Pass in all the items of the CA, will have to take a final exam. Details will be given at the beginning of the course. Please note that plagiarism from books or the internet will invalidate your work.
