Descripció general i informació rellevant The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the idea of research at undergraduate level, and to develop the right method and skills to foster future research at postgraduate level (master, PhD)

Activitats Introductòries Students will have an introductory talk on what to expect from this course, and how to get organized. Special attention will be given to individual organization and timing.
Sessió Magistral At the beginning of the course students will be introduced to the main processes, techniques and other research-related items they will need to master in order to produce their final piece of research.

Students are encouraged to use the visiting hours as tutorials in order to obtain orientation on how to prepare their research papers.

Proves orals Students will present their work individually to the rest of the class (one-hour session). 50
Proves pràctiques Students will hand in a research paper on a topic previously discussed with the teacher. 50
 
Altres comentaris i segona convocatòria

Students are expected to pass (50%) both sections (oral presentation & research paper). However, the final grade will be obtained by adding the two partial grades. Given the practical orientation of this course, it is expected that students will not need a second sitting. If this were the case, each case would be dealt with individually.

Altres comentaris
This is meant to be a practical course. There will be very few lectures. Enphasis is placed on individual work and its results. Students should be prepared to work individually (and intensively), and the product of their research should prove this. Students who feel more confortable in traditional lecture-type courses where attendance is a key item should NOT enrol.
