General description and relevant information This is a course entirely delivered in English and it has a reflexive tone. It is focused in the discussions about the globalization of culture and its social impact. The subject proposes a theoretical approach to concepts such as ‘liquid society’, ‘postmodernity’, ‘transnational’ or ‘cosmopolitism’. The student should develop a work on readings and be able to analyze cultural products (cinema, television, etc.) using the concepts and authors explained in class. This is a subject specially addressed to students with research aims in the fields of culture and the media, with an international scope.

The students must deliver assignments in the established calendar. For the second evaluation (2a convocatòria) the students must deliver the same assignments including the weight of attendance in the exam (40%).
