Descripción general e información relevante Acquisition of grammatical competence and knowledge appropriate to level B2 (CERF), with a main focus on morphology and the different types of clauses.

Actividades introductorias Course presentation (aims, content, learning methods, assessment).
Sesión magistral Presentation and explanation (for each new item) of course contents, to support and complement practice with the acquisition of appropriate corresponding linguistic and meta-linguistic knowledge.
Estudios previos Reviewing and revising for written tests. Complementation (with brief readings) of class lectures.
Resolución de problemas/ejercicios Students will be required to read units at home and do exercises about them. They should also tell teachers about any doubts/problems they might come up against when doing so.
Trabajos Students will have to write a paper about a specific grammar aspect.

No late assignments will be accepted.

No tests/exams will be taken outside scheduled dates and times.

In cases where results are borderline, regular attendance (above 80%) and active participation in class discussions may be taken into consideration, at the tutor's discretion.

Primera Convocatòria (Continuous Assessment) requires 4 marks (paper, and 3 exams) and a minimum of 6.0 in the average grade of the three exams to compute for the final grade.

Segona Convocatòria will consist of a written exam worth 100% which will include questions and exercises on all the topics covered in the course. Students must obtain a minimum of 6.0 to pass this exam.


During the exams, any mobile telephone, tablet or other device that has not been expressly authorized for the exam must be switched off and out of view.Any attempt to pass any exam of any subject by fraudulent means (be this physical or electronic) will result in the student being awarded a fail for the exam in question.

The above first item is indispensable course material for both English Language 1 and 2. Despite not being essential, the second item is an excellent tool to consolidate the contents explained in the first one, In both cases, students should acquire them with answers, and in the first case, with CD-Rom.

The course requires a high degree of student involvement and participation. Consistent day-to-day work will be paramount, as well as following instructions correctly and fully, and meeting deadlines punctually.
