General description and relevant information <p>The aim of this course is to provide the student with an introduction to phonology and phonetics in general and to the phonological and phonetic characteristics of the Spanish language in particular. Basic concepts of phonology, articulatory phonetics, acoustic phonetics and perceptual phonetics are introduced. Students are expected to master practical aspects such as phonological transcription, phonetic transcription, the definition of phonemes and allophones, and the correlation between acoustic and articulatory features.</p>

IMPORTANT NOTE FIRST CALL:

The practical exercises will only have weight in the final mark if the exam has been passed. In other words, if the exam is failed, the practicals will not modify the final mark in any way.


SECOND CALL: The second call consists of an exam consisting of 5 short questions of 2 points each. The result of the exam has a weight in the final grade of 100%.


LINGUISTIC CORRECTION AND APPROPRIATENESS: In the tests and/or activities, linguistic correctness and appropriateness will be evaluated following the rubric of oral and written communication approved by the Council of the Degree in Hispanic Language and Literature. This rubric is available in the Moodle space.
