General description and relevant information This unit is designed for the students to know the main methods for the analysis of media text. We put special emphasis on the interpretative perspective. The course puts accent on the mediatisation of the discourse. After an introductory session on media text research, we proceed to know about content analysis, frame analysis, discourse analysis and narrative analysis, with an accent on the study of storytelling. Along the course, there are readings and commentary on them. Case studies illustrate to know different approaches to communication studies. The overall objective aims that the students aquire a general knowledge about the focus on media text research and be able to apply these logics to future assignments and to the professional skills.

Durante el curso se realiza una serie de ejercicios sobre los artículos trabajados o planteamientos metodológicos. Los estudiantes deberán entregar un ensayo corto al final del curso en relación al contenido de la asignatura y a lecturas realizadas.
