1. The scientific method. History and evolution of the scientific method. Approach of research projects, background search, and hypothesis approach.
2. Quality criteria. Certification, accreditation and normalization. Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Principles covering GLP. Standard operating procedure. Audit.
3. Animal experimentation. Historical origins. Legislation. Animal welfare. Basic experimental procedures: administration of substances and routes of administration, biological sampling, analgesia and euthanasia. Classification of animal models. Types of experimentation animals.
4. Alternatives to the use of animals of experimentation.
3Rs concept: replacement, reduction, refinement. Validation of alternative methods. Legislation. Experimental design. Alternative in education.
5. Bibliographic search. Bibliographic managers. Typology and common characteristics. Bibliographic databases. Strategy for bibliographic searches. Personal library management. Bibliometric indicators.

During the exams, all devices that aren't authorized for the test must be switched off and stored. Performing a fraudulent activity during an exam, including material, virtual or electronic support will lead to the failing of the test. With independence of this, taking into account the gravity of the facts, the centre will propose the initiation of disciplinary expedient which will be initiated according to the resolution of the chancellor.
