General description and relevant information En aquesta assignatura s'estudiarà el disseny i implantació de serveis telemàtics multimèdia (text, àudio i vídeo), per a un ampli espectre de tecnologies i escenaris.

Competences
Type A Code Competences Specific
 A1 Be able to write, carry out and sign projects within the field of telecommunications engineering with the purpose of the conception, development or use of networks, services and applications of telecommunications and electronics.
 A4 Be able to analyse, use and develop technology within the field of telecommunications.
 TEL1 Be able to construct, use and manage telecommunications networks, services, processes and applications, understood to be systems of capture, transport, representation, processing, storage, management and presentation multimedia information from the point of view of the telematics services.
 TEL2 Be able to apply the techniques on which telematics networks, services and applications are based, such as management systems, signalling and switching, routing and security (cryptographic protocols, tunnels, firewalls, mechanisms for payment, authentication and content protection), traffic engineering (graph theory, queue theory and teletraffic), pricing, reliability and service quality, in fixed, mobile, personal, local or long-distance environments, with different bandwidths, including telephony and data.
 TEL3 Be able to construct, use and manage telematics services using tool analytical tools for planning, dimensioning and analysis.

Methodologies
  Description
Introductory activities International students must contact the professor to address the development of the subject. The course is taught in Catalan and, hence, students will be provided with some additional material in English.
Lecture Lectures and some practical exercises will be scheduled during the course. The material will be published in Moodle.
Practicals using information and communication technologies (ICTs) in computer rooms Labs mainly consist of implementing a multimedia compressor, deploying a multimedia website and installing a VoIP PBX.
Presentations / expositions Students will make oral presentations on their works.
Personal tuition Tuition will be arranged by email.
