General description and relevant information This subject allows the student to acquire the knowledge and develop the skills of general chemistry as the basic subject of the branch of science. Specifically in the aspects that refer to gases, thermodynamics, dissolution equilibrium and kinetics.

2.- First law of thermodynamics Variables and functions of state. Heat, work and first law of thermodynamics. Enthalpy and thermochemistry.
3.- Second and third laws of thermodynamics Second law of thermodynamics and entropy. G and A functions and criteria of spontaneity. Phase changes. Chemical equilibrium. Equilibrium in the gas phase.
4.- Kinetics. Reaction rate and rate equation. Integrated kinetic equations. Influence of temperature on the reaction rate. Reaction mechanisms. Catalysis.
5.- Equilibrium in solution Acid-base balance in water. Buffer solutions. Calculation of pH. Introduction to volumetric methods. Acid-base volumetric analysis. Indicators. Oxidation-reduction equilibrium. Redox potential and Nernst equation. Redox volumetric analysis. Redox indicators. Chemical equilibrium of complexes. Precipitation equilibrium.

In the second call will be able to recover the qualification obtained in the written tests.

During evaluation tests, mobile phones, tablets and other devices not expressly authorized by the test must be switched off and out of sight.
