| This course tries to help students to understand how a foreign language is acquired in a classroom setting, and how it can be taught. The course will apply theory to practice and will offer a wide range of methodological approaches as well as nowadays best known and most widely used ELT books in primaria, ESO and batxillerat (Macmillan Heinemann ELT). The student will be asked to create his/her own teaching materials for their future teaching situations, as well as use Moodle (the URV's learning environment) on a regular basis. |

Students will have to hand in several on-line activities based on the different topics studied in class. These activities will conform part of the final grade of the subject.

Students will have to read and prepare in avance the different readings that will serve as the text for the course. Most of these readings are journal articles or book chapters on the specific topics. These articles and chapters will then be explained in class.

| Since the subject is based on the continuous assessment, the students are required to hand in several different tasks, which have to be supervised by the teacher before they are finally handed in. |
