This subject is intented to be an introductory course in finance. The aim of the subject is threefold: (a) to give an overview of basic financial concepts, like markets, assets, instruments, monetary supply and interest rates; (b) to introduce the mathematical concepts and tools being used in financial analyses and operations; and (c) to teach the basics of corporate finance, this is, how to interpret and analyze financial accountancy information.
