To acquire the necessary knowledge about current scientific evidences supporting the beneficial effects of a Mediterranean healthy eating pattern.
To acquire knowledge about typical nutrients of the Mediterranean diet with their functional properties. .
To understand the main concepts of the Mediterranean diet and their importance in a balanced diet context.
To promote critical analysis to interpret advertising related to the Mediterranean diet and its beneficial effects on health.
To use different tools to find sources of information (databases, electronic journals, library catalogues, etc.).
To demonstrate awareness about how knowledge and experience is limited, and to know where to look for advice and guidance.
To enable students to interpret and apply basic methodology related to the course.
