General description and relevant information
Teaching will be face-to-face as long as the limitation in the capacity of the classroom due to the health emergency allows it. If the number of students enrolled is greater than the capacity allowed in the assigned classroom, teaching will be mixed (face-to-face and distance) with scheduled hours. The practical laboratory classes are preferably carried out in person with scheduled hours taking into account the capacity of the laboratories and the limitations encountered by the Covid-19. The specific organization will be specified in the Moodle space of the subject depending on the health emergency situation.

This subject focuses on the study of several aspects of the microscopic structure of matter. It introduces the foundations of Quantum Mechanics and its application to chemical systems of increasing complexity: model systems, atoms and molecules. Using atomic spectroscopy, we study the interaction between the electromagnetic radiation and matter, and how this interaction (spectra) provides information about the electronic structure of atoms.
