General description and relevant information |
The aim of this course is to provide teachers with the necessary tools to enable them to teach pronunciation to their students by developing their own activities. To achieve this objective, the distinction between teaching phonetics, teaching pronunciation and phonetic correction will be established; the prejudices that exist about teaching pronunciation in the classroom of Spanish as a foreign language will be reflected upon; the benefits of pronunciation practice for the student will be highlighted; it will be shown that phonic competence is not isolated from other competences; the benefits that pronunciation practice brings to other linguistic skills will be emphasised. In short, the aim is for the student to acquire practical training - which will enable him/her to incorporate pronunciation into the ELE classroom - as well as a command of the theoretical foundations underlying the teaching of pronunciation. |
