General description
As to make investments, the company needs resources and money. The issue faced by the financial director is how to obtain these resources. The objective of this subject is to provide the necessary tools and instruments for decision making aimed at maximizing the wealth of shareholders.

  • SE7 - Generate advisory and consultancy reports that address business problems.
    • SE7.1 - Apply the appropriate concepts and criteria for taking company decisions on investment and finance.

Transversal learning outcomes of the degree

Topic 1. Effects of debt

Operating and financial leverage. ROE and the leverage effect. Leverage, risk and the fundamental theorem of corporate finance.

Topic 2. The cost of capital

Concept. The cost of equity: the inverse PER model, the Gordon and Shapiro model and the CAPM.

Topic 3. Value creation, measures and valuation

The financing structure and dividend policy. Enterprise valuation. Measures of value creation: EVA and EP.

Second call:

In the second call, it will be necessary to present the exercises and practices proposed during the course: 50% of the mark. The final exam of the second call counts for 50%. Minimum grade: 4.
