The main aim of this course is to provide undergraduate students in Tourism Studies with the language skills that are necessary for their future careers. This course also aims to develop students’ ability to communicate effectively in English and interact in common professional situations. Students will practise the four main skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) as they become familiar with specialized vocabulary and the conventions commonly used in the travel and tourism industry. Through a wide variety of tourism related topics and tasks, students will increase confidence in using English in different professional contexts. Course level: • At the end of the course, students will reach an upper intermediate level (B2) of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR). • At the beginning of the course, students will take an “Online Placement Test” to test their English level.
